    I loved reading your blog and your dedication is certainly paying off because you are LOOK’N GOOD GURLY! 🙂 I too had to make that decision to get serious. I’m much older than you and it’s so much harder the older you get, however, notice I said harder…..not impossible.

    I would love to add a few things if I may. The difference between simplex and complex carbs are so important when aiming for a healthier lifestyle. Like you, I have my “cheat” days (because a girl needs to pamper herself occassionally). 🙂 You are right on target when you stated that you have to eat every 3 hrs in order to keep your metabolism from slowing down. It also keeps your sugar and energy level from hitting highs and lows (which reduces cravings). I cannot stress how important water is! There is actually a ratio of water for the size a person is. I highly recommend that a person research this volumn in order to gain maximum benefits from it. I drink at least 12 (8 ozs ea) bottles of water a day…..sometimes more.

    Tam knows this but for those who don’t. I was busting out of a size 16….weighing 178 at 5’7″ at age 47. I took control of my eating habits and exercise about 1 yr ago and I now fluctuate between 128 – 130 and wearing a size 4. No, I’m not unhealthy….I am more fit than I have been in years. My health stats come back in shockingly good ranges that have my doctors asking me what I’m doing. I would not go back to my old habits for anything!! I’m enjoying my new body and more importantly……the energy and stamina that I’ve gained back is phenominal.

    Congratulations again Tam for your hard efforts because it is most certainly paying off. I know what you’re going through and what a long and lonely road it is that you travel because it is, after all, a personal choice. Keep up the good work and let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you in your journey.


    • Thank you soooooooooooooooo, much Deb and you are looking wonderful as well. I’m sure you have gotten those “that is not your mom” comments from you kids’ friends. YES, we both know it is hard work and I’m also getting older. YES, I know it is a lot harder to lose weight the older you get and I didn’t want to get to that point. Thanks for the information and PLEASE don’t hesitate to share your knowledge. Congrats to you again as well and I am so happy for you. I remember when you started your journey and you have “preserved your sexy!” 🙂
